Across western Jamaica, dozens of primary schools and high schools were destroyed or severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa. The disaster caused many to be without electricity and water, and prevented classes from being held for students. These schools have been rebuilding and our goal is to help them. Thousands of students who rely on these schools, especially with external exams looming, will be set back if we don't help. As a result, Eye of Hope was established to aid these affected students by supporting our schools and teachers. Our goal is to try to contribute to the rebuilding of a few schools, one classroom at a time, and to make education accessible for as many student as possible.
